Forest Contract recently completed a refurbishment of Cardamom Indian Restaurant, based in Langport, Somerset. Cardamom specialises in Indian and Persian food, and uses spices imported from India and all across Asia. The new-look restaurant offers the facility to order online from their website, or dine in on their fantastic new furniture.
To truly transform the restaurant, a range of bespoke furniture was supplied, all to the client’s specifications. To refresh the whole restaurant, tables and table bases were ordered, along with bespoke banquette seating and chairs.
The table tops we supplied were 13 of our 40mm laminate tops in varying sizes, finished in an Egger Zoom wood stain. These were then matched with some of our Samson Twin Dining table bases and Samson Small Dining bases, all in a subtle black colour. Our client was able to specify their exact requirements when it came to the size, finish and type of the tables. Varying sizes were made to fit different areas of the restaurant, and all of them were able to be finished with a PVC edge which matched the stain on top.
The bespoke furniture was then added to with 4 pieces of banquette seating, all of which again were made to specific size and style requirements. These pieces were straight benches with buttoned backs, upholstered in Agua Furnisoft Sand-practical and stylish faux leather which is both breathable and waterproof. This makes it an ideal option for a restaurant such as Cardamom. The buttons on the back of the bespoke furniture were then upholstered in faux leather from the same range, Agua Furnisoft Mink. This matched the light sand colour beautifully by adding a slightly darker tone to this fixed seating.
The order was completed with the final addition of some more bespoke furniture. 32 of our Epsom Side Chairs were supplied, and changes were made to the model to give it a deeper sit and a higher back. These chairs were also upholstered in the same sand faux leather as the fixed seating, showing that it is a perfect option for restaurant furniture as a whole. Both the banquette seating and the bespoke chairs feature a 315 Walnut wood stain to ensure the style is consistent. The wood stain is a dark brown colour and is shown on the legs and kickboard of the respective pieces. This walnut colour goes well with the dark colour of the table tops, which helps set the ambience expected in a restaurant such as Cardamom. The sand and wood colours are consistent with the theme of the restaurant, and match the wood flooring and bar.
